Where's yoga heading?  → forbes.com

“What about the idea that the main-streaming is what draws people in?”
To be honest, the practice and study of yoga doesn’t NEED to “advertise” itself and draw people in. True followers will discover it themselves.
It is enlightening, and helps you develop as a person, be a devotee and maybe one day you’ll be at peace with yourself, and everything around you. That’s the benefit of yoga, so take it or leave it. It does not have to change its form and method (random new forms of yoga) in order to draw the public in. That’s not the point of Yoga.

Monday

No matter how hectic my day is… I do some yoga! Even it’s only the opening and closing sequence of the primary series.

One teacher also said to me (and the class): do suryanamaschar A & B, and headstand daily. You’ll be OK.

Namaste

Inspiration

Music is my inspiration. Anywhere at anytime.

What does a performance make you feel?

Sad? Happy? Excited? Passionate? Nostalgic? Anxious?….

Are these emotions organic, and can you accept the new feeling.

Consequentially, after listening to one piece 50 times, maybe 50 different moods can be related to that piece.

Very refreshing

Asian cuisine rocks!

Health food frenzy going on right now in North America, but Asians have had it right for centuries…. Green tea, brown rice, Goji berries, nori… more to be discovered!

Green tea: Drink after meals help digestion and less absorbency of fat & grease. Also try Genmaicha, a kind of green tea with roasted brown rice, for extra flavour

Brown Rice: Eating brown rice alone can be tough (just like eating whole wheat pasta). Try mixing brown rice with white rice, or 5 grain or 10 grain rice with white rice for daily consumption.

Goji Berries: I have been eating this for as long as I can remember, and they are very, very common in Asia. Cook them in chicken soup (with Chinese medicine like ginzeng) or rehydrate and sautee them with veggies. One of my absolute favourite things to eat.

Nori: There are so many ways to eat nori…. but definitely try to find nori sauce, and eat it with rice for simplicity and tons of flavour.

Enjoyy
